Interview & Radio Play

The album’s been out a month and the reviews and radio spins keep happening. Our favorite station in Los Angeles, KCRW, continues to play us each week so thanks to Nic Harcourt from Morning Becomes Eclectic and Tricia Halloran from Brave New World. If you’re so inclined, send them a request to keep spinning us. Also a big thanks to Josh at KDGE’s The Adventure Club for getting us in the rotation in Dallas as well.

We have a pretty extensive interview in this month’s SPLENDID so head over there and check it out if you want to get into our dull and boring minds. All Music Guide also recently posted a nice new review of the album.

Lunchtime outdoor show in Nashville on Saturday and the big Dallas show in May. That’s all the news this week. Send us an
email and let us know what’s going on.

iTunes Love and a Texas Show

Here’s a little know fact – One of the b-sides from our new album is available for download at iTunes. The song is called “What You’re Waiting For” and it pained us to leave it off the album. Sometimes things just happen that way so we’re really pleased that the folks at Apple offered to let us post it. If you’re into that sort of thing head over there and blow $.99 on a song.

On that note, the rest of our albums are also now on iTunes. So if you’re just finding out about us that’s a good place to go hear exactly what the rest of our albums sound like.

Okay okay, we’re gonna play some Texas shows. The first one to announce is Saturday May 28th at Trees in Dallas. We’re opening for The Deathray Davies and that’s about all we know right now. More details later.

Muzak & Messageboard

Walked into Tower Records in Nashville the other day and they were blasting our new album over the store speakers. Thanks to Nick for making that happen.

Some of y’all have been asking about a Foxymorons message board. Well, we don’t have on yet but SPIN has created a forum dedicated to us. So if you’re into that sort of thing check it out.

Full Success

Big thanks to everyone who came out to the CD Release show last weekend. We had a blast and unloaded quite a few CD’s in the process. We want to send a special shout out to the guys in the band (Brian, Sean, and Stephen) for all their hard work and friendship.

Great press keeps rolling in so check out the PRESS page for an entertaining read. We’ve gotten quite a few emails because of the SPIN article so here’s a big “Howdy” to all y’all who found out about us there.

Oh, one last thing, if you’re bored out of your gourd at work, use our radio finder to send your local college station a song request. We were number #185 on the official CMJ college radio chart last week and we’d love to get that number into the double digits.

Once again, thanks for reading and listening and let us know what’s going on with ya’s. email us!

Release Day

oday’s the day. Hesitation Eyes is officially out in stores across America and all over the web. Reviews are coming in and radio play is happening in spots across the country. We’re obviously really excited about the album and we truly want people to hear it. If you’re not sure about buying a copy, we’ve posted a jukebox that’ll allow you to stream the entire album so you can take it out for a test run.

We’re also giving away two of full-length MP3s from the album so get your download on and fire up the iPod. Speaking of iPods, yes, we’re one of the many places on the web giving away an iPod. All you have to do is sign up for the mailing list and you’re instantly entered to win.

We’ll both be in Nashville this weekend to play shows on Friday and Saturday night. More info on the tour page. Anyone that lives in the area is encouraged to come on out! On that note, here’s a streaming video of a warm up show earlier in the month without Jerry.

Shoot us an email and let us know how you’re doing, seriously.

Pitchfork

Well, we’ve been fortunate enough to have a banner ad running on Pitchfork but they appear to have launched it a little early. Our record isn’t actually out yet. It officially comes out next Tuesday the 22nd, but you can preorder it here and it’ll ship on Monday. Thanks for stopping by though.

Our first show of the year was last Saturday and it was a blast. We’re firing up the amps again tonight to rock with a slew of talent. Rich Creamy Paint, Jetpack, Harper, and the Hotel Lights (ex-Ben Folds Five).

New MP3s

we’ve posted two full mp3s from the upcoming hesitation eyes el pee for your downloading pleasure. presenting: “harvard hands” and “hesitation eyes” – we hope you like them.

also, we’re just a few weeks away from the debut of the latest incarnation of the live band. brian fuzzell, who played drums on half of the album, will be handling the drumming duties. sean williams and stephen jerkins of jetpack will play bass and keys, respectively.

Release Notes

howdy friends. well, well, well…looks like we finally got ourselves a release date. and lots of other news to announce! well, not really but….

i’m booking a ticket to play a nashville show on march 26

sometimes i imagine our gang is bjorn born at the 1980 wimbledon finals. we’re hanging in there, but it’s only the 28th point of the tie-break and we’re emotionally and physically exhausted. but i’m feeling optimistic and you know how that match turned out…

a recent review: “The Foxymorons couldn’t have chosen a more fitting moniker for themselves. Their music is bland, uninventive and shows no sign of any substantial musical ability…”

The Foxymorons proudly present Hesitation Eyes,
