Rhett Miller

Busted! one of our texas friends caught jerry doing his infamous rhett miller impersonation. notice the unbuttoned shirt, wobbly head, glasses on the edge of the nose, and the crazy eyes. too funny. luckily we’re big rhett fans so it shouldn’t come as an insult. check out the video!

Cassettes

last night i pulled out all the cassette tapes containing the 4-track demos for our next album. loaded each song into my computer so i could transfer them to compact disc. so now i have a cd blueprint for our next album. fourteen songs in total. we plan to whittle the final count down to ten. half are just guitar/vocal and the rest are full-on rock band demos. i’m having fun listening to them all today. just mailed jerry a copy of the disc too. i’m gonna start arranging his songs and hopefully work up some full band demos of them. we still don’t have any “real” recording plans yet. hopefully this summer we’ll get it done. their are also rumors of an east coast tour… we’ll see. sometimes it really sucks living 800 miles apart.

Stickers

well, we’re not really encouraging this kind of behavior but we’ll take all the publicity we can get. we’ve been sent a video of someone vandalizing historical landmarks on another continent with foxy stickers.

Photos

we finally posted some pictures on the photos page. we plan to post more whenever we get a round to scanning them in. if you have any random shots of the band, feel free to send them our way and we’ll post them.

New Song

okay, here’s a new song called hesitation eyes. it’s a rough demo but i think you’ll be able to get the picture. we’re giving you the mp3.

Stuffs

added a new review to the press page. working on a booking a few new concerts. props to mike mullens and josh tinely for their roles in the debut foxymorons: east coast show. we’ll be on a new compilation released by sweden’s sound asleep records this spring. we’ll let you know of the details soon. our nifty new background pattern is by travis at squidfingers.

hope you like our latest webpage. the image up top is taken from our award-winning “left sideways” video directed by jesse miller. click here to See the video!

Photoz

boy am i tired today. i spent four hours last night cutting and cropping 52 pictures for the new photos page. hope everyone has had a chance to check them out. the sad thing is that the most recent images are from may. wish we had some shots from our solo shows to share.

i guess i’ll mention a few things that most other people with online journals are mentioning. the death of george harrison has been a really sad thing for the foxymorons. as you all know, george is the one that exposed the beatles to indian culture and music so we’ve always held him in high regard. heck, our debut album was named calcutta. if anyone hasn’t heard the george harrison song “all things must pass“, now’s a good time to discover it’s genius.

the “other” cool thing to talk about is the unveiling of the “Segway” scooter. jerry sent me this salon link. all i know is that i’m definitely getting one of these when they make a walmart version.

Summer Recap

it was a behind the scenes summer and fall in foxymorons land. besides writing songs and scheming for the next album, we had some solo fun in our respective states. jerry quit a job, did some european backpacking, and moved to austin, the music capital of texas. david did some swimming, made some webpages, and played some gigs with his “other” band. but i guess all you really care about is the music news. well, our latest album, rodeo city, is still available. you can find it all over the web and in virgin mega stores, tower records, and fine independent shops all across the country. oh yea, you can also get it here. head over to the albums page for info and free mp3s.
